Matthew Burke

I am a Writer/Director/Editor from Kansas City with family ties to Vermont. After three long years of ego death in the maw of the Hollywood machine, I’ve metaphorically moved to a cabin in the woods to focus on writing and directing. I have a handful of shorts and music videos under my belt and am in the process of directing a couple more. I’m in the process of writing a feature and hope to direct it on a micro budget before I hit 30.

I’m also simply looking for any film work that comes my way. I have Producer, DoP, 1st AC, Grip, and PA experience, and I’m always down to help my fellow filmmakers if the time is right and (ideally) if the food is free. I wear many hats. So many hats. My hat closet is hyuge. The biggest hat closet you’ve ever seen. My friends came into my room and said, “wow, what a tremendous hat closet! This is the greatest hat closet I’ve ever seen.” Maybe the greatest in the world, but we won’t talk about that. Are we gonna talk about that? Nah, we’re not gonna talk about that.

Oh, also I’m probably a better actor than I am a director. I’m actively fighting against my fate, but that doesn’t mean I won’t read for your parts.
