Description
Liberty Hill Farm is a picturesque working dairy farm located on the White River and in the Green Mountains. The river valley forms a spectacular background for the farm. We milk 100 Holsteins cows every day with calves born every week through the year. We have hosted guests for a farm vacation since 1984, providing lodging and meals in our 1824 farmhouse. The barn is a 5-story structure started in the 1700s by John Emerson. His grandson, Dr. Charles Wesley Emerson, founder of Emerson College, finished the large barn in 1889 and the cow weathervane on the barn cupola was manufactured in Cambridge in the 1880s. We have three generations of our family working here on the farm. There are back country skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails from the farm into the Green Mountain National Forest.
